چکیده

Abstract Narrow-line Seyfert 1 (NLS1) galaxies are an important type of active galactic nucleus (AGN), generally expected to be accreting at a high Eddington rate. The properties their outflows and importance AGN feedback remain intriguing. We report on the discovery fast outflowing warm absorbers (WAs) in NLS1 PG 1001+054 with velocities range ∼7000–9000 km s −1 . They identified blueshifted Ly α , N v, Si iv lines high-resolution ultraviolet (UV) spectra taken Cosmic Origins Spectrograph board Hubble Space Telescope. perform photoionization modeling using XSTAR three WAs. derived physical typical WAs terms ionization column density, whereas outflow significantly higher. estimated location these ranges from 73 parsecs away AGN. Together previous detection X-ray for 1001+054, we suggest that UV probably part multiphase outflow. Such structure is likely produced by launched accretion disk scale, which shocks ambient interstellar medium (ISM), producing stratified absorbers. Assuming contribution tens parsecs, ratio between kinetic power luminosity could reach 1.7%, raising possibility sufficient influence host galaxy when compared some theoretical models efficient feedback.

Warm Absorbers in Seyfert 1 Galaxies

X-ray spectroscopy of Seyfert 1 galaxies often reveal absorption edges resulting from photoionized gas along the line-of-sight to the central engine, the so-called warm absorber. I discuss how recent ASCA observations of warm absorber variability in MCG?6-30-15 can lead us to reject a one-zone model and, instead, have suggested a multi-zone warm absorber. The evidence for dust within the warm a...

Spectacular Narrow - Line Seyfert 1 Galaxy with Young Post - starburst

We analyze the physical properties of post-starburst AGN SDSS J085338.27+033246.1 according to its optical spectrum and discuss its implications on AGN's evolution. The spectra PCA method is developed to extract emission lines and absorption features from the total light spectrum. The emission-line analysis indicates that the object can be classified as a NLS1 with FeII/Hβ B = 2.4 ± 0.2, large ...

Discovery of a Narrow-Line Seyfert 1 galaxy

We have discovered a Narrow-Line Seyfert 1 (NLS1) galaxy and identified it with an ultrasoft X-ray source (RX 215319-1514) detected with ROSAT . We present its X-ray and optical spectral characteristics. Its redshift is found to be 0.0778±0.0002. Its optical spectrum shows fairly strong Fe II emission lines, and its X-ray spectrum has an extremely steep power-law index of Γ ≥4, making it an ext...

Enhanced star formation in narrow-line Seyfert 1 active galactic nuclei revealed by Spitzer

We present new low-resolution Spitzer mid-infrared spectroscopy of a sample of 20 ROSATselected local narrow-line Seyfert 1 galaxies (NLS1s). We detect strong active galactic nucleus (AGN) continuum in all and clear polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbon (PAH) emission in 70 per cent of the sources. The 6.2μm PAH luminosity spans three orders of magnitude, from ∼1039 to ∼1042 erg s−1, providing strong...

The Narrow-line Region of Seyfert Galaxies: Narrow-line Seyfert 1s versus Broad-line Seyfert 1s

It is known that the spectral energy distribution (SED) of the nuclear radiation of narrow-line Seyfert 1 galaxies (NLS1s) has different shapes with respect to that of ordinary broad-line Seyfert 1 galaxies (BLS1s), particularly in wavelengths of X-ray. This may cause some differences in the ionization degree and the temperature of gas in narrow-line regions (NLRs) between NLS1s and BLS1s. This...
